Storybook Village Preschool's primary purpose is to provide high-quality early childhood care and education for young children in our community. We believe in providing a supportive, culturally relevant learning environment that fosters young children feeling that they and their families belong, feel accepted for who they are, and are valued as compassionate members of our preschool community. Our teaching team recognizes and embraces the families as children's first and most important teachers, giving us a unique role as partners in care. Our teaching vision is to foster a classroom culture of friendship through teaching love and modeling peace with a friendship-driven purpose. Our program encourages family participation in our children's early care and learning environment, including partnering with each family to guide their child's growth and successes within a community.
Our goal is to know each child as a unique learner while partnering with families to foster a love for learning, promoting a sense of belonging and purpose. Our preschool community consists of program-wide expectations or Agreements as a Reggio-inspired school and strength-based values. We are grateful to be part of a fantastic community with many resources and tools to implement a high-quality preschool experience and education for young children in Sonoma County, California.
Storybook Village Preschool is a proud participant of the following programs: Sonoma County's Quality Count's Quality Improvement Rating System (QIRS) through First 5 and 4Cs, Teaching Pyramid for promoting social-emotional competence through First 5 and Early Learning Institute (ELI), Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) Partners for Quality Services through WestEd, and the Healthy Apple Program through Sonoma County Public Health. We are committed to providing a quality school for our children, families, and teaching staff.

Established in 2019 by a former preschool teacher herself, Nicole Monachello has cultivated a caring community of learners where children feel important, respected, and loved, a school where families are empowered, and educators are valued. Nicole loves being a mom to her high school son, Frankie, including being his number one cheerleader while watching him on the wrestling mat and football field. As an active leadership team member of CA CSEFEL & WestEd's comprehensive program-wide approach to social and emotional learning, the Teaching Pyramid, Nicole is committed to relevant child development, respecting children, and teaching through love and joy. Nicole continues to meet regularly, serves as a guide for the implementation of the Teaching Pyramid concepts, and champions and supports the implementation and sustainability within Storybook Village Preschool as Sonoma County's first private CA CSEFEL Mentor Implementation Site. As a passionate early childhood educator and advocate for protecting childhoods, Nicole's time includes being a 4Cs Board of Directors member, supporting change in public policy developments, and strengthening families within our community.
Our care educators understand how and why it is so important to care for children properly. They see our toddlers as unique human beings with minds to learn and develop in the best way possible. As a participant of the PITC Partners for Quality, our educators are mentored and coached on implementing the PITC philosophy and essential practices for promoting high-quality, responsive, relationship-based toddler care within a nurturing group setting.
Our highly-qualified preschool educators are passionate about providing nurturing care and creating a dynamic preschool environment while fostering a love for learning! Our teaching team understands and implements the Teaching Pyramid concepts and uses developmentally appropriate practices through its social-emotional strategies. Our educators strive to teach the desired pro-social skills for young children to learn, develop, and promote the behaviors necessary to get along with others and succeed in school and life.
Children have a special day to share about their families! A family member is invited to come and share what makes their family special and unique. They can share traditions, celebrations, family recipes, and favorite activities.
